I know I need one, but I dont know why. Never owned or shot one, heck Ive never even held one. Have owned a couple full size and shot my dad's PRo Series and I shot them well. Just as well if not better than my Glocks. Stock trigger in them sucks IMO but that can be fixed I have heard. Someone please talk me out of selling one of my 26's to buy one..

    No can do.
Better in every way IMO, well except for the slightly mushy trigger, but yes, easy fix.
    Go hold one.

Isn't it wider than a Glock? I've never owned one, just shot a full size rental at the range once. I recall it being a little wider than I expected, but I did not own a Glock at the time for comparison. I keep hearing good things about them (except for the trigger). I'm interested in hearing what folks have to say, as well....it's almost time for me to try a new concealed carry.

It is slimmer than Glock, and the Grip length is in between 26 and 19.
I can easily carry a 9C OWB, as well as PX4SC. Can't do that with either Glock.

I've had a number of 9mm carry guns and this is my favorite. Like Dante said, slimmer than the glock and I like the grip/frame size better than the shield. Also 12 rd mags and it will also take the 17rd full size mags. The trigger is less than desirable but Apex makes a fix for that.
With that said there are some guys who have cut the frame of a full size (4.5" barrel) to the length of a 9c. Pretty cool

M&P is a reliable alternative to a glock...maybe just keep the glock and buy an M&P? Ive heard others say the trigger is poor. I have pro series in .40 and while the trigger is not what a PPQ or a VP is, I find it comperable to my Glock35 though I know there are those who would disagree. For me, when the Glock trigger breaks in dry fire I have a very hard time not moving the muzzle ever so slightly...with my M&P, my muzzle does not move. For me that is. One day, I'd like to get a trigger job for my Glock..just hadn't done it yet.

I don't like the wiggle from the trigger breaking on striker guns.

The PRO trigger is better than the standard M&P but as cheap as the M&Ps and Apex triggers are, it's a no brainer to drop in the DCAEK and RAM

I like the positive reset that the Glocks give, which is lacking on the M&P. On the full size that I owned awhile back I had installed the APEX RAM, which helped a bit. But still wasn't comparable to a glock. I wish there was a range around here that rented one.

The RAM is night and day. There are 2 sear housings on the m&ps, I make sure I get ones that will take the RAM.

I hear the forward set flat trigger from Apex is pretty close.
    JW?

I never had the chance to experience the apex trigger on a m&p but I owned 2 ppqs before and just purchased a canik tp9sf and let me tell you the trigger pull and reset it's ridiculous .I shoot that thing better than anything I own

How can you tell the difference?

On the left side of the frame, where the safety goes (if installed) there's either a rectangular cut on the top of the frame OR there's a hole just below the top of the frame with a black piece in it with a counter clockwise arrow around it.

The one with the arrow will take a RAM. Will try and get pics.

    Pic of the different frames.

The one on the right has the sear housing that will take the RAM. PS, this has been my experience with about half a dozen M&Ps. I've not made it a point to keep up with any changes S&W has made in the past couple years.
