I have tried to find out this info online and it seems that the following questions are never ask or answered any where I can find ...

Several people have said that they are now doing CCW applications at the local Escambia County Tax Office of Janet Holley.....Question ?

Do they do the "Same" exact process electronically the way they do it at the FWB office ?

    Digital Finger printing ?
    Take your Photo there ?
Allowing process to move as fast as possible ?

I have always heard that FWB made things move faster .....Just wanted to know if anyone has gone to the local Escambia County Tax Office and if it works just like the FWB Office ???
    If not....what's the differences ?

    Thanks

I don't know anyone who has gone to the tax collectors office but my wife and several of her family have gone to Ft Walton recently. One point they made was that the Ft Walton office only does CCW where as the tax collector does there typical work with licences and tags along with the CCWs. As far as the actual process at the tax collectors office, I have not heard.

Yep, it's just as complete as the FWB process.
They do the Photo & Digi fingerprint, & all that.
Only difference is that it is Tax Collectors doing it,
and not actual Dept of Ag employees, so any questions you have,
you can't ask, because other than procedural stuff, they have no clue.

Anybody have a number for the FWB office? I got the paper renewal form in the mail, but want to schedule an appointment in person. Also wondering if renewal start the day of the renewal, or if it starts on the day after expiration? Sam applications, like USCG lic. can be started when they expire, so you don't lose months.

I rode over there no appointment, waiting in the parking lot when they opened. Have to pay by check or money order, I had neither, so I had to leave and find an ATM and a gas station to buy a money order, STILL took less than an hour, out the door with my license in hand. Remarkably efficient, friendly helpful staff.
Not sure on earliest date you can get the new one versus expiration, as I let mine expire by a few weeks like a dumbass.

Thanks to all for the input...

Yea.... when I finally got someone on the phone at the tax office the lady sounded really young and if I had to bet money I don't think she knew what day it was !!! She had no clue as to the couple of questions I ask.

Just wanted to avoid the 3 hr round trip drive to FWB....Will set an appointment and head down there....and hope I don't get that lady I talked to on the phone !!!

She did say it was $134.00 ......Beats driving 3 hrs and $20.00 in gas !!!

Seems confusing over y'alls way. Why not just go to the sheriff's office and $134? That's steep and how long is that good for?

When they put the new rules out there to allow the tax collectors office to process the applications, I think they allow the tax collectors to add a fee for their time for processing them etc... So it's a few bucks more at the tax collectors office.

Please Post and let us know what the total Fees are....Hell, I will drive down there if it's that cheap....Most everyone had told me that it was about $112.00 or so in FWB......I could have sworn that my friend told me it was about $20.00 more in Pensacola than FWB.....Hope I am wrong...

    Now for me this is a " New " application...Not a renewal...My Alabama permit expired .....

Anybody on here been lately and can chime in on what it cost them ...

    Thanks.....

My wife went to Ft Walton in June and she says it was $112 but that was just off the top of her head.
