I just ordered a M&P 9 from buds with 3 magazines and night sights for $349 shipped. The night sights are not guaranteed. That seems cheap enough for me. They also have M&P40s for I think $319 shipped but they are engraved "Detroit Police". I hope to get mine next week and will post a review in the handgun section.

Kind of makes me wonder ? I'm sure that a weapon used in a shooting would not be up for sale ?

Makes you wonder about what? If you want a M&P40 engraved Atlanta Police you can get one of those at Gander Mt for $450 :)

From my research on the net, most police trade in guns have more than average holster wear but have been shot very little. I will probably never put 1,000 rounds through it so I am not worried about the round count.

My M&P9 from buds is good to go. Night sights are just fine, and holster wear is minimal.

I got a Gen 3 G22 Police trade in off GB for $380.
Still had the copper grease on it and zero powder marks on it.
Probably sat in a vault somewhere un-issued.

Of course I have shot the shit out of it now. :)

There seems to be a bunch of good deals right now but very few of them are 9mm. I am trying to get rid of my .40 now and stick with all 9mm since wife can shoot them better and ordering bulk ammo.

    Makes you wonder about what?

wonder about what happens to a gun after it is used in a shooting? I know it's probably tagged and put into evidence room for a while , and if you might end up with the pistol that lets say shot michael brown or who knows who ?

Other outfits sell police evidence guns, usually engraved with the case number - no telling what they were involved in. Personally, it's a tool, doesn't much matter to me where it's been, what its been used for.

    So no, I don't wonder.

doesn't bother me either, but its OK to wonder isn't it? My brain is wired that way I like to think out-loud sometimes.

Oh, I gotcha. I think out loud sometimes too. That is an interesting point. I would assume they would stay in evidence for many years if the shooting actually hit someone but who knows. It would not really bother me one way or the other if a gun I bought from the police was involved in a shooting.

Police trades on SlickGuns.com. They pop up all the time. Glock, Smith, Sig. Shotguns too. Some have LE markings but most don't list them as having markings. LE markings are normally done on very large quantity contracts. You can pretty well tell prior use by what it is: G22-LINE COP, G23/27 DET/BRASS, G35 TAC TEAM. Pay attention to condition listed vs price. Know that you will not get all the box goodies or standard qty of mags unless listed. The extra mags are often sold separately.

Maybe once I sell one of my other guns I have listed some cheap police trade in glock 19s will pop up.
Check out aimsurplus.com. They get some a couple of times a year. I bought one earlier this year. You can sub to their weekly email or click Notify me when in Stock. Not the prettiest but it shoots straight. Glocks are ugly anyways.
