Thanks to everyone for helping to set up and tear down.We had a total of 39 shooters joining us with a number of new IDPA shooters. We had another good group of folks who came out and "enjoyed the heat." Everyone seemed to maintain their hydration which is a good thing. But please don't extend yourself beyond any health concerns you may have as we endure the summer heat. IDPA isn't worth your health being endangered.
One equipment note, the Swinger has some protective plates welded onto the stick holders, but they are not welded on BOTH sides of the upright tubes because that would add too much more weight, so. . . . it is VERY IMPORTANT that when the swinger is set up, the point of the angle iron of the stand be directed TOWARD the shooter and the swinger portion be installed with the horizontal post aimed down range thereby the protective plates are directed toward the shooter to protect the uprights from bullet impacts so the sticks can be easily removed. Otherwise the tubes are dented by bullets and the sticks can't be pulled out. If in doubt about setting up any equipment, please ask someone with more experience in setting this up. This saves me time from having to have the stuff repaired. Stuff happens, but the same thing shouldn't happen over and over if we have tried to make sure it doesn't happen again if equipment is properly set up. Rant off. Take care till next month's match.
