I have some 150 gr fmj Hdy, trying to work up some loads using AR Comp. My OAL is around 2.700 when using the cannelure. Alliants website has no info using this bullet for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

I just checked 5 different manuals and I don't see any data using that combination of powder and bullet weight.

Crimping in the cannelure dictates the OAL to be around 2.700-2.725. I typically use RL15 but recently got some AR Comp and CFE 223. I loaded a few test rounds last night and hope to try them out this weekend.

Seating the bullet the correct distance from the lands of the rifle (or as close as you can get while being under max magazine length) is more important than crimping in the cannelure, IMO.

Is there a reason you're set on crimping in the cannelure?

You did not say which type of action you would be using this ammo in. However . . . . If your dies are set and used properly there is no need to crimp into the cannelure even when used in a HK91. --- SAWMAN

Looking for accuracy, velocity or hunting loads?

I pretty much only load for accuracy and Sierra recommends 46.1 gns of IMR 4064 @2800fps. These loads have always been the most accurate I've tested.
