    If we do that without paying $200 tax and waiting for 6 to 9 months for government paper work: we go to jail! Some people "wet" the filter with water for better results.. Results also seem better with .22LR than larger cartridges.

    A buddy of mine went to that Survival thing at the fair grounds and said there was guy with a table selling adapters for AR's to allow you to use an oil filter as a silencer. He said he had oil filters and was showing you how to do it and assured my buddy it was legal. I told my buddy when he told me that guy was full of #$% but my buddy was like I think this guy knew what he was talking about. LOL

    Those "adapters" for oil filters, sold as solvent catcher have been around for awhile. If the seller was promoting it as a silencer or parts thereof: he is jail bait. A fool and his freedom are soon parted! Lol
