    My dad has a Remington 870 wingmaster that he bought used about 20 years ago and it has pretty much hung on the wall ever since. The for end and the buttstock and very noticeably different shades. Has anyone else seen guns like this or do you guys think one of the pieces is not original to the gun? Just curious, thanks.

    Since you say there is a very noticeable difference, my vote is for something not being original. Remington QC has been steadily declining, but I would hope a glaring difference would not pass QC on a Wingmaster even today. I'm sure you could probably buy a better matched forend/stock from somewhere like Boyd's. Hope that helps.

    Thanks guys. Like I said,I have no idea how old it is but seein it hanging on the wall you can see the difference in shade.

    Hanging on the wall for years ? Maybe the sun came through the window and shone on the one part of the shotgun everyday ? Hence the color difference ?
