Thanks, this sounds like fun. Gotta get more range time w the SIGs but won't think twice about using the 1911.

My son and I have shot this several times. Great folks at Bullets and Bones. You shoot from a stationary position, but it is still fun. The plate rack at 11 yards is both fun and harder than it looks.

Very nice range. We usually shoot the GSSF course once or twice and then go over to the rifle range and turn some money in to noise.

The next scheduled GSSF-style match will be held on Saturday, December 5th from 1000-1500. Bring all your toys out and see if you can hit the plates down! This is a stand and shoot for accuracy game on the clock. It is also a fantastic introduction into the shooting sports! The divisions and rules are on the website, www.bulletsandbonesdfs.com.

Hope to see a lot of you west of us on the 5th!

    Bob

    Nuther question. The rules state:

    SHOOTING DIVISIONS
1- Pistols with magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds.
2- Pistols with limited magazine capacity of 6-7 rounds.

One of my SIGs is a P227, 10 rds in the mag. Division 2???

And, seems like that all my 1911 mags hold 8 rds. Problem???

Your Sig qualifies for Div 1. 10 round mag +1 in the chamber for Div 1 and the 1911 is Div 2 (6 +1). Double stack guns shoot in Div 1, single stacks in Div 2.

    Heading to the range...

GSSF-Style Match on Dec 5th at Bullets and Bones

    GSSF-Style, December 5th!

Run what you like! :whoo: We have 4 different divisions to accommodate shooters. Women's division has scores taken from Div1. No magnum or .22cal.

    Division 1 = 10 +1 (approx 100 rounds)
    Division 2 = 6+1 (approx 65 rounds)
    Revolver
    Women's

3 courses of fire: Shoot the 5 (3 strings), Shoot the M (3 strings), Shoot the Plates (4 strings). No reloading on the clock. Time versus accuracy!

Registration begins at 0845. You may utilize the pistol range to "warmup"!
Shooting begins at 1000. Shooting ends at 1500.

Extra divisions are $5 per set of scoresheets and will be available at range sign in. I'll also have more down at the range (red truck).

I still need one more volunteer RO for the match. Any volunteers? Might be worth it!! Contact me with PM.

Questions? Reply to this thread so everyone can see the answers.

    See y'all on Saturday!!

Bob, ever thought about a "Steel Challenge" match? Very similar to GSSF but allows any gun to compete and have structured divisions. I know alot of people that are on board :gossip:.

    Hmmm.....

We do have the 2 plate racks and 15 8" circles and the small IDPA-like steel target on site...............

How much more steel would it take (if any)?

    I'm open to suggestions. :gossip:

I just looked online for all the Steel Challenge rules, etc. and we can be a "sanctioned" range if we want to be! Chris, if you and your "posse" want to help then I will talk with the range and see where we go from here. I can alternate between Steel and GSSF - no problem! May have to start with only 3 stages but can quickly expand........

    Cool!!

Whoa.........gcgf needs an auto-notification when one gets volunteered!! Legit Steel Challenge does have appeal and nostalgia for me. I started my competitive shooting on this format in the 80's on Guam. Depending on the calendar, i'm interested. I will get ChrisC on this right away.
