I have a RIA 6" 10mm...the brass is being thrown about 10ft and also brass is flipping and slapping the slide right behind the ejector. I'm not sure what # spring is in now, but I'm thinking a heavier one will correct this. It's a long slide with the bull barrel.
    1. What # spring do I have?
    2. how much should I move up?
    3. Will any 1911 spring work or is there a difference in length?

Have you notice any slide battering/peening? If not, I wouldnt worry about the distance of your brass as it is normal for 10mm pistols to throw brass that far. Email RIA on the recoil spring specifics. As far as the brass kisses on your slide, that is more of a ejector tuning than recoil spring weights.

Apparently they come with a 20# and the 5" & 6" use the same springs. I'm going to put a 22# in

    So, how'd that work out??
Inquiring minds with g20's wanna know ;)

Sorry for the delay, 22# spring works well, i also put in a (wilson i think) recoil buffer. Theres no more brass pings on the slide, but its still launching brass into the next county

Change the factory extended ejector for a 40/10mm GI ejector and it wont throw your brass a mile away it will drop it at your right foot.
