Then add $8.50 shipping for a total of $46.50 for 500 rounds. Sounds like gunshow pricing to me.

7.6¢/round before shipping is still better than other online sources.
Even 9.3¢/round with your example is better than most before adding their shipping.

Or, battle the hoarders who vulture the local Wal-Mart/etc. Oh wait, that's right, most of us still have a day job.

Meh, or order in bulk, and split the shipping with others. The price-per-round of the past is just that: the past.

PSA shipping has gone way up. Thought about buying shotgun shells. Crazy high. Just 1 box at $5 had shipping of $8. PSA had been fair on shipping. Not any more.

You just aren't looking hard enough. I have never stood in line at Walmart but I do check the ammo counter every time I'm in there shopping.
I've picked up quite a bit without trying. I bought 3 boxes of 100 Super X the other day for $5.99 a box.
I've bought several boxes of Federal Auto Match on-line for $20 a box. I just wait till they have free shipping and/or combine it with other orders.
I've got enough .22 ammo that I'm not going to go out of my way to get more but if it falls in my lap, I'll buy it.
It's not hard to keep it below 7 cents per round including tax/shipping.
