The U.S. Supreme Court may decide as early as today whether they will hear a case concerning the obvious unconstitutionality of a Chicago suburb’s ban on semi-automatic firearms. These firearms are clearly protected by the explicit intent of the Second Amendment to protect arms suitable for militia use by the American people.

If the court declines to hear the case and lets these unconstitutional bans stand, they will send the nation on a nearly inevitable path towards another civil war.

A 4/4 Court will not hear the case so they can allow the status quo bans and restrictions remain in place. It is for this and similar Cases that we need the 9th Justice in place.

    as I expected...the fight begins..

Maryland's ban on 45 kinds of assault weapons and its 10-round limit on gun magazines were upheld Tuesday by a federal appeals court in a decision that met with a strongly worded dissent. In a 10-4 ruling, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, said the guns banned under Maryland's law aren't protected by the Second Amendment.
"Put simply, we have no power to extend Second Amendment protections to weapons of war," Judge Robert King wrote for the court, adding that the Supreme Court's decision in District of Columbia v. Heller explicitly excluded such coverage.

guess the heller decision was not strong enough.

Many people say gun ownership in America is a privilege, not a right. So what did the Founding Fathers intend for us when they wrote the Second Amendment?

Eugene Volokh, Professor of Law at UCLA, shares his interpretation of the Second Amendment as it applies to us today:

This video is a little over 4 minutes long

As outlined in that video the problem with the second amendment is that the anti's misinterpret what it means on purpose to fit their agenda of restricting and taking our gun rights away.

The Senate’s No. 2 Republican this week introduced a bill that would require states that issue permits allowing gun owners to carry concealed weapons to recognize such permits from other states. In a statement on Monday, Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) said his national concealed carry reciprocity bill would strengthen “both the constitutional right of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and the power of states to implement laws best-suited for the folks who live there.”
North Carolina Republican Richard Hudson introduced a similar proposal in the House on January 3, the first day of the new Congress, and it now has at least 163 co-sponsors.

It’s no surprise to see liberal documentarian Michael Moore at the forefront of the latest gun debate; Moore achieved his greatest commercial success with a movie called “Bowling for Columbine” that addressed the topic of American gun violence and he has been a staunch and persistent enemy of the Second Amendment for most of his career. This, however, may be the first time that Moore has proposed repealing the Second Amendment and replacing it with one of his own device. Ladies and gentlemen, we offer to you Michael Moore’s idea for a 28th Amendment to the Constitution:

“A well regulated State National Guard, being helpful to the safety and security of a State in times of need, along with the strictly regulated right of the people to keep and bear a limited number of non-automatic Arms for sport and hunting, with respect to the primary right of all people to be free from gun violence, this shall not be infringed.”

When the Supreme Court meets later today to discuss pending petitions for review, the justices’ conference calendar will include a pivotal Second Amendment case: Kolbe v. Hogan.
In Kolbe v. Hogan, the full Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Maryland’s ban of semiautomatic rifles and detachable ammunition magazines that exceed ten rounds. In doing so, the Fourth Circuit became the fourth federal appellate court to uphold the constitutionality of a ban on “assault” weapons and large-capacity magazines. The Second, Seventh, and District of Columbia circuits have previously upheld similar bans, and, to date, the Supreme Court has refused to enter the fray.

When there is no Justice, Feedom and Rights are plowed under: they will become the seeds from which revolution will grow. The Declaration of Independence and resulting Revolutionary War against was what the Tyrants reaped.

"The liberal attitude toward guns is very strange. One day they're ranting and raving about the legal use of a firearm, the next they're defending a chronic felon who pulled the trigger and murdered Kate Steinle. There's a lot of bloody hands in California this morning."

San Diego police officers bought back 164 unwanted guns from people in South Bay on Saturday — a no-questions-asked event that proved so popular, officers ran out of the gift cards they provided in exchange for weapons.
“We ran out of money,” said Capt. Alberto Leos of the department’s Southern Division. “We gave out $25,000 in gift cards.”
He said officers had to turn away people hoping to take part in the exchange.
Officers handed out $150 in Wal-Mart gift cards for every handgun or rifle turned in. Each assault weapon netted $250 in Wal-Mart gift cards for the person handing it over to police.
