Saw the email traffic. Nick mentioned USPSA "style". I wonder if this will be an affiliated club that can update classifier scores online. Usually one classifier stage per match.

I'd like to make one of these matches, but I'd like to get a report of how it goes before I drive over 2 hours. I think I'll stick with the Vinegar Bend match this Saturday and hopefully someone that goes to this match will fill us in on how it went.

I do know that there is going to be a classifier stage at this match. As far as uspsa affiliation I am not sure. But I will ask the question at the match.

I know nothing of shooting competitively. Is this a good match for a first timer, or better suited for seasoned competitors?

Here are my thoughts on IDPA vs USPSA as a first competition match:

While those were directed at a youth shooter, they apply to anyone looking to get into competition shooting.

^^^Sound advice, I've been shooting in comps for about a year now. The main thing that has helped me has been the guys I shoot with.
Find some shooters in your area, whether at a local gun shop or on this forum, and ask questions. I have shot in the 2 gun matches at K&M, it's relatively low key and the ROs and other shooters are very helpful.

A great match at k&m yesterday. Four stages with a classifier. Nick as the MD ran it as well as it could be run. 41 shooters participated. If it works, as it very well should, they will secure affiliation and classifier scores will be posted. My first trip to k&m and what a spread they have!!! Beautiful facility and wide open bays. More bays are under construction. This match is on my calendar from here on out!

If anyone knows the fellow that was shooting a revolver please let him know that I have part of his reloading device.

Great first USPSA match for the Emerald Coast Practical Shooters at K&M Shooting Center. Everything ran smoothly, as far as the match went, and I was glad to be a part of it. Enjoy!

^^^highlights from squad 1. Chad Kiehn was nice enough to put this together and share on the tube. This was my first experience with USPSA. I was lucky enough to be squaded up with a few of the best shooters in this match. I can't wait for the next match.
