I just picked up one of these for use as a survival gun in the airplane for the flight from Florida to Alaska this summer.

It will replace a more limited original Springfield M6 survival gun.

The best I can tell, it can shoot all the following with what comes in the kit:

    12ga
    22short
    22long
    22LR
    380 ACP
    38S&W
    38spl
    357mag
    9mm
    40 s&w
    45 ACP
    44russian
    44spl
    44mag
    45schofield
    45LC
    .410
    20ga

The .45/.410 insert looks like the chamber is long enough for .454 Casull and .460 S&W Mag - but I'm not brave enough to try any... ;)

WAIT !!! ----> All of the above chamberings listed are LOW PRESSURE rds. The 454Casull and the 460S&W Mag are super high pressure(65K psi) rds. This .... with quite severe bolt head thrust. (KA-BLEWIE !!) --- SAWMAN

I like it. Now let's just hope it doesn't turn out like a gun version of the book Hatchet!

I was able to get a .454 Casull cartridge to chamber - but not the .460 S&W.

The developer demo'd inserts in 5.56x45, 7.62x39, and 7.62x51 so I think the pressure of the .460 Rowland, .45 Win Mag & .454 Casull will be ok.

Great Idea, what was the cost ? & can you put the pack of inserts in the stock? I don't think so but looks like a maybe? That would be nice.

Think of it as shouldering a hand gun with a 7-8 inch barrel - you shouldn't expect cloverleaf groups at 25-50 yards. Palm-sized groups are certainly realistic.

It won't be a tack driver - well maybe the .22 rifle portion will be - but if you want something that can shoot most common handgun cartridges out of one firearm in a survival or post disaster situation, this fills the requirements.

Bob - we had the same buck shot at the store. In a metal ammo can, I paid about $65 bucks for it. No sales tax up here... ;)

I see your point about its usefulness in a survival/ teotwawki situation. I do like the fact it folds and can fire the 12,20, .410 and .22. I would agree that palm sized groups with centerfire cartridges would be acceptable. I am curious if your groups will be better than the fellow in the video. He says the targets are at 25 yards and he is shooting from a bench without sandbags.
