Ok here goes. Started to take the series 80 stuff out of the Taurus and started with the slide. Problems right off. The fireing pin stop won't budge. I pushed the little do hickie out of the way and pushed the fireing pin in and got it out of the way and released the do hickie and the fireing pin stayed in like it is supposed to.

Now the problem. The fireing pin stop will not move. I even hit it with a hammet and punch an no go. Checked it and the fireing pin is staying in and didn't slide out . Stopped and put the slide back on. You would think they pressed the damn thing in it is so tight. Any one else ever run into this problem.

Sure dont want to cut it out and buy a new one.:noidea:

That seems odd, are you sure that it isn't just a little cockeyed causing it to bind up?

Sell it and buy a used Philippino gun. That way, you never have to mess with all that firing pin safety garbage. JMO.

Now thats an idea Dan. Hate to send it back to the factory but I may or just shoot it this way. Ian,Dosen't looked cockeyed and I tried to move it dack and forth with a BIG screwdriver and it won't move even alittle so it is tight.
Any one else ever had this problem. I soaked it over night with RimOil and that didn't seem to help any.

I have had several that were pretty tight. The extractor can hold it up as well.
