    The story on how the guns were acquired is usually a good one. I am not trying to derail your thread. I just like the history....

    Open PAINT
    Select the drop down on top left and open file that your picture is saved in
    You should not be able to view the whole picture because it's to big
    Select RESIZE drop down
    HORIZ =[100] VERT = [100]
    Select the HORIZ Box and type in [40] don't worry about VERT
    Select OK
    Now you should be able to see all of picture... if not change it to [25] etc.
    Then Save-As add resize to you original file name

    Thanks! I'll give that a try when I have a little time. I have been simply emailing pictures to interested folks and that seems to be working.

    I have a Walther P-38 and even being over 60 years old it is still one fine shooting weapon, that gun was extremely high tech for that time.

    I have not seen p-38s at Academy but Gander Mountain has over priced, post war,non-nazi , import marked, aluminum frame P-38s for around $499.

    The Academy ppks are made by Smith and Wesson and have gotten terrible reviews, especially the .22 versions. The nazi marked version I am selling has cracked grips and worn finish, hence the lower price. A WWII p-38 will be proof marked on the left side of the slide. AC for walther, byf for mauser or CYQ for spreewerk. The post war aluminum frame p-38s are easy to spot since they have a different slide and totally different grips. They are recent imports from the former west german military and bear import stamps.

    Not to derail, but 155 what is a P-38 with NON matching numbers going for ? Mine has different numbers for upper and lower.

    Depends on the manufacture code. AC and Byf mis-matched are worth about $600 if the finish is still good. CYQ will bring slightly less. Add $100 if you have the original WWII issue holster.

    Just curious are these every day shooters or something to put in a glass case....all reviews have been good on the S&W versions and if one happened to be made on Monday at least you can send it back for repairs under warranty!!!!!!!!!BUMP

    The pistols I am selling are shooter grade with worn finish or cracked/replacement grips. The Smith ppks have a bad rep in the reviews I have read. The 70-80s import interarms ppks are superb,as well as those of WWII vintage. I've been a collector of WWII nazi pistols for over 30 years and the WWII versions have never failed once...
