Anybody know anyone in the Niceville area that performs this service? Ive never been any good using a stone, and so really wouldn't want to try it with a light bulb or a truck window, lol.

I wouldn't mind paying someone, but my goglefu was weak on this one.

I would be happy to mail you my Sharpmaker, do your blades, and mail it back to me.
If interested PM me your address.

for an already sharp knife (quality steel, d2 tool, damascus, highcarbon steel etc) i start with a fine arkansas stone, then ceramic rods and finish with a fine diamond steel...

all while wearing a jewelers headset to examine the edge carefully...

to start on a rusty blade, make a paste of salt and water to clean the rust off first, then files to take pits off the edge..following grades of stones after that

Go down to wal mart, buy a new crkt.

Obviously that's a lie, mine is so old and dull it's essentially a folding spoon. My dad has a Gerber brand diamond rod, i have been know. To finish with that. Usually i just use an ancient dry/wet stone his dad have him and my brother liberated when we were teenagers.
