Did you find some good mags for it and if so, what kind and where? Always looking for more.

Well the 5's and 10's always worked and that is what I use for hunting but the 25 did not very well. C Products Defense has a good 25 now so all mine are theirs. I got 1 25 to test, will be happy to let others try it too.

Nice! The best part for me is cheap shooting of a fairly good size caliber. I cut down a pretty good size pine tree with mine. :)

How much was the upper build, Frank? I might go this route... if mag issues have been ironed out, it'd be cool to have an AR and AK sharing ammunition.

Check out Gunbroker, this one was from HardeneD Arms, the retail is $399(I think)+ shipping and they have an option to buy the BCG and charging handle , the no reserve auctions you can beat that price. I am embarrassed to tell you my cost.

Nate and I looked at the mags and compared to his. They are built like the ones he has no issues with not like the ones w failures. Now I intended to run 10rd and 5 rd for hunting, those never had issues really just the 25-28 rders.

Well this X39 is a shooter, 1MOA or less at 100yds. Shot Tula, some FTF, S&B brass, 123grSP, no problems and Hornady 123SST no issues,, all sighted in and ready to hunt. Mags had no issues but I just used 2 10 rders

Probably put 100 rds thru it, no cleaning, had Frog Lube it and shot well from the beginning.

    Good to hear.

That's some nice accuracy with the x39.

Yeah it was funny, all 123gr ammo so they all hit pretty close to each other, the Hornady and S&B were on top of each other. Hornady makes its X39 in a steel case but S&B is a brass SP, either would make a good hunting round.

I already showed pics of the gun, did not bother w the targets as they were shot up
