I cut down some 303 british brass and made cylinder length rat shot for the 44. Fit right at 200 gr of #8 shot in there.

What is your spec's on this, find some 303 british cases and trim them back to the 44 spec's?

I had to take a little bit off the rim diameter to get them to fit my 44 shellholder. They fit in the cylinder but i dont have a 303 shellholder. Then put them in the cylinder and mark em with a sharpie. Cut em off at the mark and clean up the end. I used a 40 cal expander to bell the mouth a little bit. Put in some powder then a little cardboard over powder wad i punched out with a sized 44 mag case, then fill to top with shot. I used a 357 gascheck that i flatened out a little so it would cover the 40 cal opening and then crimp it down with the 40 bullet seating die. If you want a few 303 cases let me know.

Works great jj thanks for the tip. Im trying to post pics of what they look like after fireforming but they wont load right now for some reason. 1 neck split on me. These are very effective though. you can stuff a lot of shot in there.

Might want to try annealing the cases. That is said to make them split less.

thanks for the tip Ray. i tried it last night and it worked mo betta. i wish i had done that first. i then annealed my 308 to 45 auto cases and it was about ten times easier to draw them down.
