    X-Five Rust

I own an X-Five as well and have surface rust issues. I was extremely disappointed at first but have learned to deal with it. This gun shoots too good to send it back. And yes it does have plenty of weight. It feels like a brick. This is why it is easy to shoot.

Wow! I would be pissed to pay that much for a gun only to have that kind of rust issues.

That's wild... if I keep it, I will wipe it down immediately after each competition and keep it stored in a silicone impregnated gun sock.

I am / was / will be if it happens again.

Since its a bead blast finish, the flitz may shine it up, but will probably remove most of it without any ill effects. Lightly rubbing it with oil and a soft abrasive pad removed the rust, and scratched the finish.

Flitz will take it right out. Silicone should prevent it. JMO.

Agreed, I just didn't think I would have to be so damn careful with it. Maybe I will wear some white gloves when I shoot to make sure that the oils on my hands don't adversely affect the finish in between stages? :D

You're about to earn a custom title ;)

If they weren't going to make it good, it was going to Ron for Cerakote, still might since this seems to be an issue with more than just the other pistol that I had.

To me, it just seems ridiculous to refinish a brand new stainless gun to prevent rust.

Now that I know that it has to be babied and doesn't have a durable finish, I can work around that, or sell it... just need to decide which route I am going.

If it helps your decision, there's a shop in south FL with 2 SPEC OPS 9's. I'd love one!

I've been searching for one for months, and now I'm broke. Lol.

I'll be happy to take it off your hands, so you don't have to deal with the dilemma.

I'll keep that in mind...

I actually came across one of the polymer Wilsons for ~$1000 or less (I can't really remember) at the Pensacola Gun Show around 5 years back. I read some reviews on my phone and passed on it, have they made changes? I'm not sure if it was a 9MM or 45, I just remember going "oh its polymer" and putting it back.

They made a KZ-45, which sucks and is kinda pointless. The Spec Ops 9 is supposed to be pretty good.
