So I picked up a g26 in a trade not too long ago. Just took it out of the safe to mess with it a bit and I had an issue. When I put an empty mag in and rack the slide for some reason the slide is not locking back. I have owned numerous glocks and have 6 others sitting in the safe right now, none of them have ever had this problem. Would always lock back with an empty mag in. First I thought it was a faulty mag but it happens with any mag I use. Then I tried switching out the slide stop and that wasnt the issue either. I have no clue whats wrong with this thing does anyone have any suggestions? Im about to put my head through the wall..

    Pics?

Can you make the slide lock back if you operate the slide stop by hand?

Same result for different mags and a different slide stop in the same gun?

Slide stop not installed properly ?? Take off the top half. Push the slide stop up with your finger. Will it snap back down ?? Is the slide stop spring under or above the pin ?? It should be UNDER the pin that holds in the locking block(small pin). --- SAWMAN

A faulty mag or a faulty slide stop would be the only issues right or am I missing something here?

Does the empty magazine push the slide stop up? If you hold the slide back?

Can you lock open the slide manually?

I do know that there is more then one type of slide stop but can't remember which one goes with which gun. One has a pointed triangle thing on top if I remember correctly. :noidea: Just rambling suggestions off the top of my head.

No clue man. Im going to call Glock tomorrow to see what they say. Thinking about just breaking it down completely and put it back together, just to see what else I can fuck up

They are easy to break down but theres nothing in the slide that would affect slide stop. I have a 27 that is identical to the 26 and have noticed an improper grip where your left hand, for right handed shooters, will touch the slide release and cause the slide to lock back on a non empty mag. But if your hand racking I cant see how any empty mags wouldn't work. Just a thought but have you checked the pins and made sure they are in, I think its the front lower one that the slide stop rides on.

Also with the slide off is the slide stop free to move, the spring should keep it pulled down but its very light, also check the angle on the cut in the slide where it locks up.
