I have made a couple more out of the 4130 material. I think I have 6 or 7 already spoken for. I think everyone who has asked on this thread should have a pm from me. If this goes alright I will make a batch to see if they will sell.

    Thanks

It looks like Beretta has a large tolerance on the hole in the receiver where the charging handle fits into. I met up with bobinbusan this afternoon and his stock charging handle was a snug fit in his receiver. Needless to say these few I made were too big to fit. I asked to take his receiver home, took out my dremel and it took me about ten minutes to get my charging handle to fit into his receiver. No wonder why every one was saying the older ones were loose.

Ian has one of the new ones and I am putting two in the mail tomorrow to see how folks like them.

I want to thank everyone for helping with this project and IF(it's big) I can get this to work I will offer everyone here a deal on one.

    Thanks

    David

I met David earlier this week and was fortunate enough to get one of the prototypes. The fit was perfect on my rifle. And it feels very nice to reach up and grab a solid charging handle finaly. Thanks David for the opportunity to test this for you.

David & I met up and he saw we had some fitting issues and he took my weapon to make the corrections to the charging handle and brought it back to me, now I just need to get out to field test it and provide some feed back on how it worked out, will keep everyone in the loop on this project.

I think I have heard back from everyone but HonkyTonk and Ian. Everything I hear has been good news about the fit and function of the handles.
Shipwrek asked for a handle to get around his honking optics.

That is my TRS-25 there. It is small for this setup. I will try to knurl the handle and see if I can do a better bend on the next one.

I'm sorry to be late to the party... I will test fit mine tonight and let you know what I come up with. Work has been hell lately!

I installed mine last night, it was extremely tight going in, but when it went in I was able to rotate it around a bit and now it seems to fit perfect, no wobble, but still loose enough to rotate. A drop of oil during installation was probably all that I needed to get it in there with less effort.

I racked the bolt hard a dozen times and it held together without an issue... love the feel!

That sounds great Ian. I plan to make a batch of 50 or so in the next couple of weeks and will let everyone know when I have them in hand.

I apologize for not posting this sooner. I received my charging handle and it fit perfectly! When I say perfectly, I really mean it. I did not even have to sand it and it slid right in without any play. I could not have asked for a better fit or design. It is worlds better than the original, and I think it is the first upgrade anyone should consider if they own a CX4.

Thanks HonkyTonk, Just have not heard from you since you said you received it and was wondering what you thought.

    Got them back

I bought some parkerizing solution off ebay, and all I can say is wow. Very easy to do and it looks outstanding.

Now I need to get a small bead blaster and this should look outstanding.

Have been playing around with a bent charging handle for the Beretta(Shipwreck is who turned me on to this). Seems some of you are running some pretty big optic packages on these things.

I saw what was being made for the Scar and sort of went that direction for the Beretta. The only problem I am having is the bend. Hopefully I can figure it out.
