I have been trying to figure out how to make something that works better and looks better than the stock charging handle on my CX4. I started with a handle for the Hi-Point carbine and have been selling them for a couple of months. Tried to make one that would be easier to make than the stock style while being a better part. I am fond of delrin because of its ease of machining and not having to finish the part with parkerizing or painting. I went through five prototypes to come up with these.

I have two extended charging handles that I have made to see if my concept will work. They work fine in my gun, I was wanting a couple of guinea pigs to try these out and tell me what you think. The couple that I have were made on a manual lathe and are not perfect, But should do for a proof of concept.

I am a little late to market because Sierra Pappa just came out with a stock looking extended charging handle

    http://sierrapapacx4.com/index/#/extended-bolt-charging-handle/

But they want $67.50 for theirs.

So if you would like to try one of my charging handles out for me just pm me and I will try to get you one.

    Thanks

    David

I really do not want to get into shipping outside of the US. I hear it is a pain.

That's the tune that he's singing now, but he is just looking for an advantage for when we are competing with each other at the range :D.

In all seriousness that is just fine, I will check it out and pick one up when you have a production model.

O.K. One should be in L.A. with TennJeep and another in Holt with Stuntmanmike. Hopefully they will have some good news about them. If all goes good I should have a batch in a couple of weeks and will offer a deal to everyone on the forum.

Got a chance to handle the one that you sent to Brant, I like the feel and size of it, I would like it a bit more if the stud that interfaces with the bolt had a little tighter fitment. It was blazing hot out and my 9MM ar was acting up so we didn't really get to put it through its paces, just some initial impressions.

That is the problem I have on the lathe I ran those on. My slide has a .257 hole and that was what I was shooting for but you can only do so much. Plus with the boss only being less than a 1/4" anything small will be sloppy. The run I make will be on a cnc so those problems will go away. I just needed to know if it would live in the real world and if the concept was O.K.

I put 30 rounds through my CX4 with it installed, stopping every so often to clear a round (no malfunctions, I was just testing the handle). It seemed to work well, but I'm going to pay close attention to the bolt recess to make sure the charging handle doesn't damage the bolt because it is slightly undersized. I'm going to make up some dummy rounds this week and hopefully do some actual malfunction drills this weekend. I'll let you know how it does.

Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to test it out for you!

Mike you run yours on the left side like that. I like to have a grip on the forearm of the rifle rather than the pistol grip for charging, Or are you a lefty.

Yes the first ones are a little loose. Will definitely tighten that up on future ones.

    Thanks

Not really a lefty, more ambidextrious. It just feels right to me, And I like having my hand on the pistol grip when charging.
