I have an AK with some pretty plain slab sided black plastic furniture, and so Im considering upgrade options.

Anyone ever use these? The reviews seem fine...

Other recommendations would be welcome too, preferably full sets. Maybe some nice wood that I can just bolt on?

    Thx

I've got some on a 74. had to do a little dremel work to get them on but i like the overmold. i wouldn't put any thing sight related on it but if you wanted to do a light our vertical grip I think it would be fine. hard to beat for the price

    Thanks for the response.

By "i like the overmold", you mean the fact that its slightly larger and fuller then what one would expect of the size of an AK forearm and gas tube cover?

sorry. i thought the rubbery texture was ideally referred to as overmold. its tacky enough to give a good gripand much more comfortable than the beat up wood hand guards that came on the rifle.

That's fine. I have/had no idea what they mean by that term. I am however, familiar with the Hogue grip material. So if that what the term means, then all is good.

I would love to have that, so if you can advise a (reasonably priced) source that would be most helpful. Currently, as I stated above, I have "plain slab sided black plastic furniture".

I prefer the feel of wood for my handguards. Try a nice polish set with the palmswell on the handguard. If you can't find one local there are always some on the AKfiles marketplace.
