Anyone ever use a job site type steel box as a gun safe? Any suggestions / photos are appreciated. I am thinking of doing this. Don't want to spend the extra money on a second gun safe just to store ammo.

    Thanks

Yes I am on the look out for a job box for ammo too, enough weight so you aren't toting it off easily, and strong enough to be a hassle to break into.

It's not a job box, but I have a big heavy steel cabinet I repainted and use for just that purpose. It works great. I will try to take a picture when I get home.

My brother uses one of those lockable metal storage cabinets with the diamond plate looking door. He has one of those drying rods in there that keeps the moisture down.

I looked at the job boxes for ammo, parts, magazines, etc. I wasnt impressed with the construction, i personally felt that i could get into them pretty quick. The couple hundred bucks it cost for a job box is better off going towards a 2nd safe.

Edit...plus the 2nd safe would free up room in the primary safe (jewelry, documents, knives, etc) and make room for MORE guns!

Edit x2....these are the ones I looked at http://www.lowes.com/pd_195894-76354-37211296_0__?productId=3019396
