Might be a little to "EARLY" on "HOADERING THE H2O" & 22 AMMO :focus:

Well, hopefully everyone now has enough water on hand for
anything that comes down the pike later...

Only reason everyone was freaking out was that most folks
hadn't bothered to do their basic yearly prep for hurricanes,
since we've had it easy since Ivan...now they're scrambling.

The smart folks already had water, food, and generators in place.

    What I learned from Ivan...
Get an RV, doesn't have to be the latest, but it does
have to be big enough for your whole family.
If it's Cat 3 or higher, get in the RV and GO!!
Have a 2 Month supply of storage food (Wise/MRE)
and Bottled Water for EACH person in the family in it.
That actually takes up about half a storage compartment
    for a family of 4.
    Come back when you can.

    Build a Cat-5 Proof Home.
at least 5 miles from the Gulf...2/3rds of the way up a decent hill,
dig out an appropriate area and build a concrete rebar & steel
quonsett hut, set the air ducts, cover building with heavy rubber matting,
then cover over with at least 6-8 feet of earth. Basically it's a hobbit-house,
but you'll never worry about a hurricane or any kind of storm again.
Earth keeps the temp at a nice 65-ish degrees year-round...so heat/cool
costs are LOW. Secure against most types of two-legged predators.
Put a gun port in your steel front door and you can spray & pray to your
heart's content if ANTIFA/ISIS/any other jackwagons come knocking ;)

If you set it up right, a couple solar panels and a windmill will keep you
comfortably off-grid. A good well and compost toilets resolve the other
end of the scale. Or you can run standard water & power with an
excellent backflow protector to keep things civilized until bad weather
knocks 'em out. Or a mix of it all :)

I'd be willing to bet anytime there's a hurricane I have nearly as many 12 oz. cans of beer as I have bottled water that of course came straight from my kitchen faucet before the hurricane arrived!

Academy this morning. Overflowing with 22LR. I think $0.0798 per round was the cheapest. 0043DAD8-CC59-40BD-9A80-B92E946281CC.jpg

Walmart in niceville had plenty when I was there Wednesday. They had the federal 550 bulk pack for $22.73 which is about $. 041/rd. Also a shelf full of cci standard for $3 74/box.
