Yep. This match will be 7.5-8hrs. I'm traveling about 6.5hrs to Dawsonville, GA in August.
I've got a lot of family that lives right around Houston.. If you want to cancel the hotel I'm sure they will open their door to you.....they are really really Mexican...like barely speak English, Mexican. Let me know if you're interested haha.

I appreciate it, but I think I'll stick to my hotel room. I'm pretty sure your family wouldn't like me dry-firing in their living room the night before the match....

That match is a 1.5 day format. Shooting all day Saturday and finishing up Sunday morning. Right now I just booked the room for Friday and Saturday night. I'm heading out there on Thursday after work, but I'm not sure how far I'll make it before I decide to stop. I'll get up and find the range Friday, sign in and walk the stages, rest up Friday night, shoot Saturday and Sunday morning, probably hang around for the awards on Sunday afternoon, then head back. I'm taking Monday off, so I'll probably come all the way back on Sunday night so I can sleep in my own bed and relax once I wake up on Monday.

Geez, that's going to be a long weekend of shooting and driving. Are there professionals at a lot of these matches?

Tested frangible .223 bullets for accuracy. 3 loads gave 1 1/2moa...very pleased with that, as I only planned on shooting steel at about 34yd. Then shot a 3/8" mild steel plate at 34yd...the bullets do put minor dents in it. Shooting at a mild steel plate 3/4" thick resulted in no dents, just removing the paint. Shooting at an AR500 3/8" plate also resulted in no dents, just removing the paint. I'll need to make sure others seeing me shooting know that I'm shooting frangible bullets, not regular bullets. I have a 3/8 scale, AR500 3/8" torso shaped plate I intend to shoot at. Final load: 23.5gr IMR4895, 50gr frangible bullet, CCI 41 primer; no idea yet of the velocity out of 16" and 10.3" bbls. 66rds test fired; zero malfunctions. Frangible bullets cost about 10.5 cent each if bought by the thousand.

Just wanted to say +1 A+++ to Dillon.

I have been reloading for a while now with just my RCBS Rock Chucker. I mostly load subsonic ammo for my .308, 9mm, and .45 to run through the suppressors. Well long story short we did a refi on the house with Navy Federal and drop the payment to $245 a month and the Appraiser Lady that came out well her husband was big into reloading and had a Dillon XL 650 with everything setup to reload every pistol cal. Well he no longer reloads do to age (80) and wanted to sell out. Wife and I ended up over there house and loaded up my entire back of my 15 F150 and the back seat with reloading stuff for $800. I have already sold alot of the stuff I did not want or need. I still have stuff to sell. He even gave me a brand new crate of .223 (1600rds) unopened. He also gave me tons of brass, bullets, powder... you name it...

Well I called Dillon and told them what I had and I would like to ship the unit to them just to go over it for me. This is what I shipped them. Less the brass feeder and the strong mount. I also did not send any of the dies or the change over kits. They were in like new condition.

    .
Well Dillon ended up just shipping me a complete brand new XL650 no questions asked and no money out of my pocket. I was floored. WOW!!!

Yea I'm pretty excited to get it setup and start using the progressive press. It came with alot of the upgrades but I plan on getting the nicer handle and a cover for it. I will mostly use it for pumping out .223, 9mm, .45 and maybe some 300 blackout. My wife loves to shoot the .357 and .38 and I just picked up a .44 mag revolver and lever action so I will be reloading those too.

Depending on the height of your bench, the Inline Fabrication offset handle can be a lifesaver.

Since I'm retiring (again) next week, now I will get the chance to set up my 650. I'm only going to do .223 and .45 ACP for now.

You have the brass feeder also? Yea I will probably just start with some .223 with cfe 223 powder to get use to using a progressive.

Took my 2 year old out to the range with me this morning to make sure this new ammo I got would cycle, he was excited but didn't last too long out there, was pretty hot and he has a swimming party to get to. He was pretty much done after one mag. But that's alright, wasn't planning on ha going out there for too long.

Working up some trajectories for my Zeiss RZ6 and RZ8 scopes. These are pretty much like the Nikon Spot On programs. On the Zeiss sight ... can input info and it will spit out the ranges, drops, and power settings, for the scopes tic marks below the horizonal .

Works great for 6.8SPCII and the 308Win. Will be looking at it for future chamberings also. 6.5X284,257Wby Mag or 25-06AI. ---> ??? --- SAWMAN

Put together my FDE build. Had Steve at iCerakote do my spikes punisher lower with added punisher infidel, upper, and alg defense mlok rail. He said I couldn't let freedom ring without having a matching tumbler go quench my thirst.

Nice! Steve cerakoted the tumbler my uncle got me for Christmas. I've beat the crap out of that thing and the cerakote is still perfect.
