I'm going to sell my beloved Honda S2000 on a national level. What do I need to know so I don't get screwed? "You don't know what you don't know".

What about payment? What type of payment? Signing over the title, and when? Releasing to car? When?

    Help!!!!

Good luck is all i can say. So many scammers on both sides these days. My son went to arkansas this weekend to look at a car. I warned him. Seller showed up at the meet without the car and finally admitted it didnt have a title.
Reminds me when, many years ago, my wife and daughter went to buy a junker used truck locally at someones house for around 2500. They wanted to test drive the truck so the owner wanted to hold the money while they test drove it. The owner was a non threatning older woman and they felt like it seemed legit. Next thing you know the cops pulled them over on the test drive and informed them that the truck was reported stolen. They explain their story, the cop follows them back to the house and the lady denies they ever gave her the money. Luckily the cop knew her well for her criminal history. He scared the scammer enough to admit she had the money and she gave it back. A big thanks to him as she really didn't have to admit she had the money. I was pissed because they were supposed to wait till I got off work to go but anyways lesson learned id say as they acted very naive that day. Glad nothing worse happened..

    Good luck Ranger

I have had good luck selling a couple vehicles on Facebook marketplace. That being said, do your research on comparable vehicles and price it in the middle leaving some negotiation room. Also clean up your vehicle and take good pics in DAYLIGHT! The last vehicle I sold on FB sold in less than 3 hours. It was a fair deal for both buyer and seller. Good luck!

I would go to Frontier Motors in Pensacola. I sold a Honda CRV to them a while back and they were very fair and just wrote me a check. You can also negotiate with them. I did and was very happy with the deal. This was pre the fake pandemic though.
I think Frontier will also run a Car Fax for you at no charge. A good negotiating tool for you under any circumstances. Maybe a bank to bank transfer of funds. Two, three hundred dollars as non-refundable security deposit until funds clear. With the understanding that you keep the title until your bank says they have the funds.

You know it would be worth going on Carvana as others have said and at least entering the VIN # and see what they offer you. I am on several vehicle forums and since used cars are scarce lately I have seen some crazy offers that folks have gotten from them. They bring you a check and pick the car up, easy peasy !!!

I've done that. Response was that he car "was not within their sweet spot". Offer was rather low.
