I joined in as well, awaiting the response from the wife. My wife is a little desensitized though, every time I meet someone about a gun or gun related item, no matter what it is, it cost $1k. It's social experiment in the works. ;)

I can always bring up past credit-card escapades if I get too much static....still paying those off, at least mine is paid off on sight..
I let her buy a blouse or something every now & then..on debit, not charge

On the "Buy your husband a gun" meme: Wife was married twenty years to a guy that spent every spare nickle on beer and started the morning with one. The only negative thing she has ever said to me about guns was when I came home from a gun store and mentioned they had one single semi auto rifle left on the shelf and I didn't buy it. This was the week the last scare cranked up and she understood that availability was about to be non existent. She looked at me like I was an idiot and told me to go back the next morning to see if it was still there. I did and it was, bought it and took it home. She shot it and now claims it's hers. She might say something if I spent mone we needed for something else but if we're good on finances she's all about the 2A. Rather me spend it on hobbies than on booze.

My wife told me she didn't have any problem with buying me a gun this month, but that October was her month. I don't know exactly what that will entail, but I'm game. I have a hard time getting her to spend any money on herself. I have to buy her gift cards, just so she has no choice.

I'm not too for this certain month dedicated to buying gifts for your significant other (wife, etc). If I have the money and know what he wants I'll damn well buy him that gun just to satisfy him. Maybe one day I'll want something in return maybe I won't but im not going to hold it over his head like I see some do. I'm the kind of heart who likes to think of making others happy first.

    But hey that just mee.
