Three trips to neighbor’s range. Shoot groups, go home and reload more test rounds, shoot more groups, go home and reload more of best load, sight in gun.
Tried the “go to” 45 Colt Unique load of 8 gr + 8.3 gr + 8.6 gr. All shot the same…not good enough. Tried more of the most accurate of the...
On the Internet perusing Ruger forums reading about flat top blackhawks in 44 special (I have one) when I stumbled across that Ruger made some flat top convertables in 45 Colt/45acp. Stainless with Ruger fake ivory grips, Lipsey special. I've never owned a 45 Colt firearm.
Called my FFL and she...
Fine on left. Oxidized on right. Right can only be used in a bolt gun where you have the force to fully chamber.
Stage, this is a thought…we could split a case of the Federal subsonic that way we could test without as much outlay.
Remington subsonic can be accurate, BUT its bullets are not coated very uniform and can oxidize. Oxidation causes the exposed bullet diameter to grow causing chambering problems. Some boxes are fine…some aren’t.
Closest for me has been 42gr Gemtech subsonic. Very accurate IF your gun likes that lot. I have four different lots of it. If the gun likes that lot, it shoots as accurate as Wolf match target.
Have not bought or tried it. Did read several reviews. Good reputation for cycling in semi autos. Quiet. Clean shooting, but not as clean as CCI Clean. Supposedly made by CCI for Federal. Does not expand. More accurate than bulk floor sweeping ammo. Copper plated bullets.
Less accurate than...

I had problems expanding the case mouth without ruining the case mouth using a Lee set of dies. The expander would catch on the case mouth unless the case was perfectly aligned with the expander. I now expand the case mouth using a 9mm expander die with no further problems. I also run .358...
So I’m looking at camping stoves when it suddenly occurs to me: simply buy a $13 hot plate. I have multiple ways to generate electricity for it. So it’s not efficient, who cares as long as the desired end is met.
No. Appears to be freeze dried. Packages have similar instructions like open pouch, remove oxygen absorber, how much boiling water to use, how long to cook/stir, how many servings. Because several servings per pouch, I’d need to refrigerate leftovers…no problem as I can run fridge and microwave...
